PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR  ERIE AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES                                                                       POSTED 4-18-16

Javen Construction is currently accepting resumes for a Project Manager/Estimator to take-off/estimate, buy-out, construct, and close-out projects in Erie and surrounding counties. The overall project planning and scheduling to deliver a quality project on-time and within budget in a safe and efficient manner is the express responsibility of the Project Manager.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience estimating and managing the general trades work of commercial, industrial, and/or educational on projects valued $3-$15 million and be knowledgeable in OSHA compliance and with building codes, and other regulations

A proven track record of:

  • Successfully bidding and securing work
  • Interpreting plan documents
  • Managing field personnel in a fair and ethical manner
  • Negotiating change requests with architects, construction managers, and clients in a professional manner to foster good-will with team members.
  • Negotiating subcontracts and material pricing in a fair manner in the best interest of the project.
  • Fostering a culture of safety on project sites.
  • Bringing creative problem-solving solutions to the building team.
  • Meeting critical project deadlines and progressing projects in logical and cost-efficient manner.
  • Bringing difficult projects with demanding schedules to completion to the satisfaction of the building team.

Skills:

  •  Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills and effective listening skills.
  • Engineering knowledge, educational and/or practical experience, to be able to analyze and creatively resolve issues as they arise in the field in a safe, timely, cost-efficient manner.
  • Computer literate and well-experienced using Microsoft productivity products, Sage Timberline Estimating and Project Management, and P6 Scheduling.
  • Must hold a 10-hour OSHA card.  The following certifications would be a plus:
    • 30-hour OSHA training
    • EPA Lead-Based Painting Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP)
    • NYS DEC Stormwater Management
    • LEED Certification

CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT ERIE AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES                                                                           POSTED 4-18-16

 Javen Construction is currently accepting applications for Working Superintendent to work in Erie and surrounding counties.  The safety of the worksite, the quality of the workmanship, and the timeliness of the completion are express responsibilities of the Superintendent.

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Maintain the safety of the jobsite ensuring that everyone works in a safe manner compliant with OSHA and our Company Safety Policy.

  • Manage employees and subcontractors.
  • Manage material needs and work flow to complete project in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Work with plans and specifications and/or instructions from project managers
  • Check work along the way to ensure it’s up to code and specifications.

 The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing the general trades work of commercial, industrial, and/or educational projects valued $1-10 million.
  • Must hold a 10-hour OSHA card. The following certifications would be a plus:
    • 30-hour OSHA training
    • EPA Lead-Based Painting Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP)
    • NYS DEC Stormwater Management
  • A proven track record supervising tradesmen and subcontractors ensuring productivity while fostering a safe work culture.
  • A proven track record of providing clients with a quality product in a financially sound manner
  • Strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills and effective listening skills.
  • Proven track record of analyzing and creatively solving issues in the field in a safe, timely, cost-efficient manner.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
